A collection of weird questions I have been asked as a lesbian
Since I came out as a lesbian many years ago and I am very comfortable with my sexuality, I often find that people feel comfortable asking me all the weird questions that they have always wanted to ask a lesbian but never felt like they could. These questions are often rooted in stereotypes or deeply invasive. This piece is a collection of those questions. Presented in the format of a risograph booklet, it presents the questions and their eagerly awaited answers (or at least how I would answer them).
Each page in this book, and the imagery and text upon them, is comprised of hundreds of hand drawn dots. These dots were then scanned, recoloured and riso printed. This process was meditative, allowing me to work through my frustrations towards this collection of too-often asked and occasionally irritating questions. The book itself was also hand bound using coptic stitching, another relaxing process.
